Malapert of Pasquinade
Malapert is a roaming artist searching for inspiration. The Muses are often moved by a brilliant beard, an elven ear, or an elaborately crafted cloak and Malapert is there with pencil in hand. He greets his potential model with a compliment and an offer of a portrait, and if acquiesced, he pulls out his portable drawing board and quickly renders a flattering likeness while holding conversation. When the art is complete, he scrolls up their gift and sets off into the crowd to chase the muse once more.
Nate Calderone
Nate is a cartoonist from Colorado who plays Malapert of Pasquinade, a roaming Renaissance Artist who draws portraits of patrons. Nate has been on cast at the Colorado Renaissance Festival since 2023, where he has drawn well over 1,500 portraits. His lane act is appropriate for all ages and highlights patrons who attend the fair in costume. Each interaction is about ten minutes, with the portrait taking about seven minutes. His average drawing rate is five portraits an hour, adding up to about 35 to 40 drawings a day. Patrons have an engaging interaction with a member of cast, are gifted a personal piece of art, and leave with a lasting memory.
